With METI's stated goal of moving Japan towards over 40% of cashless payments by 2025, we see tremendous opportunities to leverage Japan Smart Chain for digital payments in Japan.
Given the recent and significant advances in blockchain technology, JSC believes that stablecoin transaction costs can be greatly reduced. Businesses or applications using Japan Smart Chain infrastructure can pass on savings to end-users, without compromising their adherence to Japanese regulatory requirements.
Real World Assets
Blockchain technologies are ideal for non fungible assets, such as concert tickets, real estate, and luxury goods. However, it is important that users are able to safely and easily trade such valuable assets.
Japan Smart Chain is fully interoperable with Ethereum, but is also able to preserve some of the essential identity verification and AML checking that is necessary for Japan residents to transact safely and securely. Importantly, RWAs on JSC can be bought and sold globally - as long as the transactions made within Japan are fully compliant.

While Decentralised Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) present boards and communities with huge efficiency gains for voting and resource allocation, personal accountability for decisions remains a largely unsolved gap in many public, permissionless blockchains.
